When faced with the challenge of designing the Butter Blend & Flaxseed line, a lack of budget and available stock images posed a hurdle in the process. Amidst the constraints of the COVID era, I took on the task of finding a creative solution to visually represent the concept without a photographer or dedicated budget.

Leveraging my background in photography, I initiated a DIY photoshoot to create captivating ingredient assets for the packaging. Sourcing products mimicking different ‘butters,’ I brainstormed various approaches to showcase the blending process. Initial attempts, such as using a blender for an overhead shot, proved impractical, resulting in over-blending and an unprofessional appearance. Determined to preserve the distinctiveness of each ingredient, despite their similar white coloration, I opted for a simpler yet visually striking concept. The idea of scooping the ingredients into a bowl emerged, visually conveying the blending process while maintaining a clear distinction between the components.
With the packaging finalized and the ingredient images at hand, the task shifted to crafting the identity for the Butter Blend & Flaxseed line. Balancing the need for consistency with the existing Creme of Nature product lines and the desire for unique personality, I developed the initial creative that would solidify its place within the brand’s comprehensive lineup. The outcome not only met the visual requirements but also imbued the Butter Blend & Flaxseed line with its distinct character and visual appeal.
